A Macon, Ga. native and high school teammate of head coach Kelley Hester, Jill Faircloth was brought to UNLV as the women’s golf assistant coach.
In her first coaching position, Faircloth will assist Hester in the daily operations of the program, including coordinating fundraising events and recruiting, assisting with academic advising and compliance with NCAA policy, handling equipment needs, and scheduling and monitoring the team's budget.
“Jill’s duties are something like a director of golf operations,” Hester said. “She’s very good at multitasking and accomplishing several things at once, which is important because In this job, no two days are the same.”
Faircloth and Hester were basketball and softball teammates at First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, where they led the Vikings to a state title in hoops in 1991. After high school, Faircloth went on to study exercise science at Valdosta State University. She has a year of experience as a physical therapy assistant at the Piedmont Sports Medicine Complex, helping rehabilitate athletes.
A lifelong Georgia resident, Faircloth, 28, now lives in Henderson.
